Jesus Above All (creative worship project for this week)

Matthew 10:37 was the verse picked this week.  Jesus says that if you put father, mother, sister, or brother over Me then you are not worthy of Me. At first, this verse threw me...why would this little verse mean so much to someone.  I worked on it through the week and it started to click.  Jesus was very serious about His love for us and these words are showing us how magnificent our relationship with Him can be.  To love someone so much that you put them above all else! I will take that kind of love.

The Destroyer

I am currently reading through the book of Luke.  Luke 22:31 really caught my attention.  Jesus says to Peter that satan asked for him...to sift him like wheat! Basically, satan wanted to tear Peter down, break him, to make him feel worthless.  Satan is always working to destroy us.  I know it, yet when I'm in the middle of a battle it's so hard to see the reality of it.  The reality is that satan is working hard at times to destroy me too.  He wants to tear apart our families, communities, and nations.   The good news is that Jesus is in our corner.  In the next verse, He says...but I prayed for you. Jesus is on our side.  We just need to keep our eyes on Him.  He is going to carry us through it. Do not be in distress, do not sit in worry.  Jesus is with us.  He loves us and wants the best for us, just like He did for Peter.

The Return of Jesus

What a delight to the believer!  What a bitter pill to the unbeliever.  It is sad really.  That is why we must get as many people ready as we can.  Telling the gospel that Jesus died for your sins!  The signs of this great event can look fearful, so keep your eyes on the prize! And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. Luke 21:27 Jesus tells us to be patient and that our souls will be saved. In your patience possess ye your souls. Luke 21:19 Then he explains why: For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled. Luke 21:22 Jesus gives us three warnings to be ready when He returns: And take heed to yourselves, lest anytime your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting and drunkenness and cares of this life, and so that the day comes upon you unawares. Luke 21:34 The word Surfeiting means hangover.  So the three things to be mindful of while watching and waiting are to not be ...

Keeping my Heart

Guarding my heart or keeping my heart with all diligence.  What that means to me is staying in the Word, staying close to Jesus.  Everything in my life will spring from my heart.  What a beautiful thought to ponder on.  My life will be a reflection of where my heart is. I am ready to put this to work with all diligence!

Guard Your Heart

Guarding my heart ❤.   I just want to share what this means to me and how important this verse is to me.  To Keep my heart with all diligence I must stay close to Jesus.  I have no other option.  I value my heart.  I value my soul! To do this I have to keep my heart in check...I have to be in the Word as much as I can and communicate with God as much as my waking hours allow me.  I am not perfected in this practice, but this life is never going to be perfect.  I have to keep going back to the source to keep my heart healthy!

Trust in the Lord

Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus, just to take Him at His Word. There is so much truth to that song. Aren't you tired of doing things in your own might? I sure am. Don't you think it's time to trust Him and know that sweetness the song speaks of? I am ready!

The pharasee and the tax collector

Journaling keeps me closer to Jesus. I am refreshed in the Word and reminded that I always have work to do. This scripture reminds me to work on my own relationship with Christ. Worry about my own sins. Jesus was kind, compassionate, and humble. I want to be more like Him. ❤❤
